Intervention Levels

Students at Centinela Valley Independent Study School are expected to make the same graduation progress as students enrolled at CVUHSD traditional high schools.  As such, there is an expectation that students will earn at least 30 credits per semester.  In order for students on independent study to complete 30 credits per semester, each school day they have a set goal of completing 7% of combined progress in their courses per week. Students who do not complete this requirement will not receive attendance credit for the week, and will be placed in either Tier II or Tier III intervention level.

Students may move up or down the tiers of interventions, depending upon their weekly progress.  Should a student at Tier III fail to meet the established progress goals for two consecutive weeks, they will be disenrolled from the Independent Study School and returned to a traditional school.
